Vinnie Sperrazza is a Brooklyn-based jazz drummer who grew up in the Utica, New York area in a music-loving family.

Juxtaposition (Posi-Tone 2017) is Sperrazza’s latest release as a bandleader and gathers the talents of three world-class musicians; Chris Speed on tenor, Bruce Barth on piano, and Peter Brendler on bass. The album provides a contrast of strong rhythmic and harmonic concepts with unstoppably gentle melodic sensibility. This helps Sperrazza to succeed in making bold statements of stunning musicianship. Sperrazza’s leadership qualities as a composer, arranger, and musician are on full display with this new album.
