Lauren Sevian is one of the most in demand baritone saxophonist on the scene today. Her latest album is titled Bliss (Posi-Tone 2018) and features the wondrously solid rhythm section of virtuoso pianist Robert Rodriguez, superstar bassist Christian McBride, and powerhouse drummer E.J. Strickland. Special guest alto saxophonist Alexa Tarantino provides some additional highlights to three songs. With ten years since her debut album (2008’s Blueprint, Inner Circle), Sevian has a lot to communicate on her newest offering. She thoughtfully does it with original compositions that each represent a loving emotion.
